This policy explains how Demonix Timer handles race, rider, timing, device, and support information in the mobile app and web results console.
Last updated: July 31, 2026App Covered
This Privacy Policy applies to Demonix Timer, also distributed as MTB Timer, including the Android app package pro.techkey.mtbtimerand the related web pages used to view race rosters and results.
Information We Collect or Process
Demonix Timer is used by race organizers and timing staff to operate mountain bike races. The app may process race names, event dates, event locations, categories, stages, rider names, bib numbers, tandem team names, start times, finish times, durations, rankings, race statuses, and timing notes such as whether a time was captured by tap, QR code, sensor, or manual entry.
The app may also process technical information needed for app operation, including local database records, license tokens, app version, device-generated identifiers used for support or local sync, Bluetooth timer device identifiers, local network information such as IP address when host/client sync is used, imported or exported timing files, and diagnostic information if crash reporting is enabled.
Race event locations are entered by organizers as event details. The app does not request GPS location permission to track a user's physical location.
Permissions and Device Features
Camera access is used only to scan QR codes for racer, timing, backup, or race data transfer workflows. Bluetooth access is used to discover and connect to compatible timing devices. Local network access is used for host/client race-day synchronization between devices. File, document, print, and sharing features are used when organizers import, export, print, or share race data and timing files.
These permissions are used to provide app functionality. Camera images are not used for advertising or profiling.
How We Use Information
Information is used to create races, manage riders and tandem teams, capture start and finish times, calculate stage and overall rankings, sync race data between organizer devices, publish results, support licenses, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
Sharing and Public Results
Race organizers may choose to display or share race rosters, categories, rider names, bib numbers, tandem teams, times, durations, and rankings with timing staff, participants, spectators, or the public. Public race pages may show this race result information.
We do not sell personal information. We may use service providers such as hosting, database, cloud sync, crash reporting, app distribution, or security providers. These providers process information only as needed to operate, protect, and support the app.
Storage and Security
Race data may be stored locally on the device using app storage and a local database. Some settings or license information may be stored in secure device storage when available. If cloud sync or public results are enabled, selected race records may be sent to the configured backend service.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including platform-provided app storage, secure storage for supported sensitive settings, and encrypted network connections where supported by the backend service. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Retention
Race data may be kept for event operations, result verification, organizer records, and race history unless it is deleted by the race organizer or removal is requested. Local data remains on a device until it is deleted in the app, the app is removed, or the device storage is cleared. Backup copies may remain for a limited time as part of normal system maintenance.
Deletion and Correction
Demonix Timer does not require participants to create an account in order to appear in race results. Participants may ask the race organizer to correct or remove rider information when appropriate. Organizers can delete or update race data in the app. Some timing records may be retained when they are part of official event records, audit history, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
Children
Demonix Timer is intended for race organizers and timing staff. It is not directed to children. If a race includes minors, organizers should enter and publish only the information needed for event operations and results.
International Processing
Information may be processed in the country where the race organizer, backend service, hosting provider, or support provider operates. By using the app or publishing race data, organizers understand that data may be processed outside their local jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update this policy as Demonix Timer changes. The updated date above will reflect the latest version published on this page.
